Despite the title, Phone Bhoot feels
like a 1984 Hollywood comedy, remade for the modern age, with a twist of
paranormal geekdom. The '80s-inspired plot isn't stoner enough, and the film
lacks feature-length fun. Instead, it suffers from a lackluster backstory, a
soul-capturing tantrik, and a sceptre-wielding villain.
If you enjoy film trivia, you will be
pleased to know that Phone Bhoot isn't just another Bollywood film. It's also a
horror movie that features some familiar faces, including Katrina Kaif and
Ishaan Khatter. They're two film fans who see ghosts in movies and even pitch
for an exorcism in order to make money.
The film's premise is a little
far-fetched, but the characters are well-written and the cast is solid. Ishaan
Khatter, Katrina Kaif, and Siddhant Chaturvedi all star. The director is
Gurmmeet Singh, and the movie is slated to be released on 15 July 2022.
Phone Bhoot is a hit-and-miss affair,
with the first half containing some very fun, youthful comedy. Its second half,
however, falls flat, but is still worth checking out for horror comedy fans.
But don't expect to see anything revolutionary here.
Phone Bhoot raises many questions and
raises a lot of questions. The film is set in a haunted mall, and the
characters are all obsessed with ghosts. A few memorable moments include Gullu,
Major, and Katrina, who dresses like a rock star. The film's attempt at humour
is forceful and full of wordplay. The movie's references to films and other
genres are woven throughout.

Movie Review
The script is well-written and the
acting is solid. Phone Bhoot should perform well in good multiplexes in major
cities, or high-end single-screen cinemas. However, it won't be a hit in
mass-market cinemas.
Phone Bhoot makes several nods to
popular Hindi cinema. Its protagonist, for example, plays a tune from Jackie
Shroff's debut film. The film's dialogue is also filled with nods to pop
culture. A lot of these references are also well-integrated into the film's
story.
